The Tunisian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI), by virtue of their position as an interface between the state and the private sector, are committed to playing a decisive role in revitalizing the Tunisian economy at the regional level, in particular through the processes of decentralization and regional economic development.
The eight Tunisian CCIs (Tunis, Bizerte, Northwest, Cap-Bon, Center, Sfax, Southeast and Southwest) are public institutions of economic interest, under the Ministry of Commerce, thatare managed by elected committees of entrepreneurs. The CCIsprovide a cooperation interface between companies and the Administration and play a central role in providing support to businesses in industry, trade, services and handicrafts.
In order to highlight their contribution to the promotion of the economy and their role as local structures at the service of enterprises, the CCIs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerceand with support from the CBACAP program funded by the US State Department, are organizing the first edition of the CCI Forum to be held on October 11, 2017 at the Carthage Thalasso hotel in Gammarth.
This Forum will host several heads of foreign chambers of commerce, national and international experts, and representatives of several international and regional organizations. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the role of the chambers in decentralization, export development and digitization/dematerialization processes in order to address Tunisia’s new economic and business needs. It will promote the sharing of experiences between Tunisian CCIs and their foreign counterparts and will focus on exchanges between national and international economic actors.
